'Affirmations' Are A Powerful Tool ! Updated: Nov. 15, 2018

Affirmations help me create an intentional mindful shift known as Pivoting. An Affirmation intentionally guides me to shift my thoughts and feelings into a specific direction . . . a direction that is supportive and desirable for me to go in.
When I first started to work with Affirmations many years ago; I started out by using someone else's pre-written Affirmations.
In time, I have learned to compose, write, and/or refine my own in order to meet my own specific needs; whenever I need it or it feels right for me.
I find that I use Affirmations for 3 main reasons:
1) There is something that I want to create.
2) I want to shift my minds focus away from a negative focus towards a positive focus.
3) I seek to focus on and reinforce the TRUTH of what is good and true within my life and the world.

I find that I use Affirmations for 3 main reasons:

3) I seek to focus on and reinforce the TRUTH of what is good and true within my life and the world.
I have learned that I am the Creator of my life . . . and a pre-requisite for me to create more of what I want to create for myself or for others ‘I must first be able to see it, feel it, and believe it’ in order for me to create it. I must be able to see it in my mind’s eye, visualize it, imagine it, dream it . . . and as ‘I dream it’ I must 'see it, feel it, and experience the feeling of it fulfilled . . . the fulfillment of it within my heart' . . . 'knowing' that it is for me ! Affirmations help me accomplish this.
If, in time, these criteria are not met as I practice my Affirmations, they will take longer; or they may not work at all. It would then be best to calibrate my Affirmations in such a way that I get as close to meeting the criteria as is possible for me. My goal is always to stretch myself with my Affirmation; but not so much that my aim is so high where I set myself up to fail. As I stretch myself, I do my best to 'pretend' . . . in other words: I 'Fake it till I make it'.
If, in time, these criteria are not met as I practice my Affirmations, they will take longer; or they may not work at all. It would then be best to calibrate my Affirmations in such a way that I get as close to meeting the criteria as is possible for me. Affirmations, Affirmative Prayers and Affirmative Guided Meditations, are similar in many ways and they are all very powerful tools with many great Benefits. They all . . .
- Help me create positive change in my life.
- Help me shift from a 'lack' mentality to a 'have' mentality.
- Help me shift the way I think, how I feel, how I talk to myself, and how I move forward.
- Help me clarify what I would like to have, create, or experience in my life.
- Are scripts that describe my ‘Best Case Scenario’ vision . . .
- Create focus by helping me create and hold a vision . . . my vision ! I get to create it ! !
- Help guide me towards seeing, feeling, and experiencing - in my body and my mind - how good it feels to have what I want to experience ! Not how good it will feel when I have it . . . but how good it feels to have it ! ! ! !
- Raise my Vibrational Frequency . . . so I can move toward Vibrational Alignment.
- Help me open a pathway that allows me to integrate, anchor, and embody what I would like to experience.
- Open my mind to new options, solutions, opportunities, and possibilities.
- Guide me towards my Inner 'Energy' Work and my Inspired 'Right Action' physical work.
My Guidelines for Writing an Affirmation:
* The most powerful Affirmations are always stated in the 'I am' form.
* All Affirmations must always be expressed in the 'Now', not in the past or the future.
* The Affirmation must always be stated in the Affirmative . . . i.e. in the Positive.
* It must be Clear so there can only be the One, stated possible outcome.
* I must Believe that it is possible . . . i.e. it must be believable, conceivable, and attainable to me.
If it is not, I must revise it until it is.
* The Affirmation must be about Me, not someone else.
* Keep it Simple and Concise so it is easy to repeat and remember.
* The most powerful Affirmations are always stated in the 'I am' form.

My Guidelines for Practicing my Affirmations:
I have learned that writing the best Affirmations for my specific needs is an evolutionary process. Years ago, I started out by writing the Affirmations out on 3x5 index cards or any kind of paper of my choice. I used to also use a notebook . . . these days I use my computer or I just make them up and say them out loud as they 'appear'. I then 'tweak' it as I practice it by editing it along the way; finding even better ways of phrasing it.
I do this at least once every day . . . at times I will close my eyes depending on what feels right. The important thing is to be relaxed, to take my time and not to rush through it. I play it out like a 'movie, with me in the lead role. I get to write the script, direct it, and choreograph it . . . until it makes my heart sing. At times I may see mental pictures through my 'inner eye' or you may hear a verbal mental message with my 'inner ear'. It could also be that I experience a simple 'inner knowing' or an 'inner feeling'.
No matter how I do it, I enjoy the feeling of the experience to its fullest extent possible . . . I feel the feeling of how great it feels to have this happening in my life. I do my best to experience it in as much detail as possible in my body and in my mind ! When my experience makes my heart sing . . . that's when I'm there ! This is the vision I hold on to as long as I can and I repeat it as much as possible. This is when I know that I am in the process of bringing my affirmation a little bit closer into my reality. I keep 'replaying' my vision and I edit or expand the details of it according to what feels right for me at any given moment. I allow myself to be playful and have fun with it; knowing that its materialization is on its way to me and it will appear when I have done my work and the time is right !
As I've become more practiced in using Affirmations, I write and reaffirm them only as needed . . . often only in my mind or for the purpose of sharing them on this website or on my Facebook pages.

- I say it out loud every day, for a minimum of 30 days, and then use it as it feels right for me.
- I must be in a relaxed state, where I am undisturbed, and I can allow for plenty time.
- When I practice my Affirmation, I am creating and holding a vision . . . and my goal is to see, feel, and experience - in my body and my mind - how good it feels to experience what is in my Affirmation ! Not how Good it Will Feel . . . but how Good it Feels . . . Right Now !
- As I integrate, anchor, and embody my Affirmation content; I am presented with ideas, solutions, and opportunities of what to do . . . and I must follow and take Guided Right Action so that my vision can materialize.
- I must be 100% willing and available to change . . . unconditional . . . whatever it takes !

A Note of Caution:
One very common misconception about Affirmations (and Guided Meditations) is the believe that daily repetition is all that is required to make them work. It would be great if it were that simple, unfortunately this is not true for most of us. We must also do our work . . . our Inner 'Energy' Work and the Outer 'Right Action' work ! !

'I am' is the most powerful Affirmation there is. Many of us use it all day long without being consciously aware of it . . . but what are we affirming ? Are we affirming the things that we like, want, and love . . . or are we affirming the things that that we actually dislike, don't want, or fear ?
Whatever it is, these 'automatic' affirmations are creating our lives.

What if my Affirmations are not working:
The reason why we write and practice intentional affirmations in the first place is because there is something that we want that we are struggling to get. The reason why we are not getting what we want is because we are not in vibrational alignment with it. Learn more about Vibrational Alignment.
There can be numerous reasons for vibrational misalignment; including life lessons we signed up for before we entered his life-time . . . blockage by our own Perception, Judgment, and Limiting Beliefs . . . or a failure to recognize and/or act upon the 'Universal Nudges' that come our way in the form of lessons, options, solutions, opportunities, and possibilities.
As long as I am not in Vibrational Alignment with what it is that I want . . . it cannot come to me . . .
I have more work to do !

Working with Affirmations for 'Creating Positive Change'

Say this affirmation whenever someone asks 'How Are You' for about 30 days and this practice will cause a permanent positive shift in your consciousness and in your life. I can attest to its power as both, my husband and I use this affirmation often.

The Universal Law of Attraction assures that when we give generously from our Heart it will return to us multi-fold. It may not be from the same source or in the same form . . . but It Is So.
Giving generously does not only apply to money, but it can come in many forms . . . among them are Gratitude and Appreciation, Forgiveness, Love, Time, Support, Understanding, Kindness, Compassion, etc. etc.
The list is endless !
The Universe wants us to be Abundant !

Many people think that it is wrong to ask for abundance of money or they believe that money is bad.
However, money in itself is not bad; it is simply a form of energy that becomes a powerful tool to help usget along in life.
