'Abundance . . . Money . . . and I' Updated: April 24, 2022
Money, and Abundance in general, is such an important piece of our life experience ! Although it is true that money in itself does not make me genuinely happy, it sure makes life a lot easier and much more enjoyable when I have enough of it so I can have what I need; or even better, when we I can have what I need plus at least some of 'what I want'.
I grew up pretty poor myself. And although I only revisited those extreme conditions briefly in my younger adult life; for many years there was always that ever present thread of 'struggle' and 'lack' with abundance of all sorts, but especially with money. This feeling of lack still visits me from time to time, but I am in a much different place now; where I see and relate to money, as well as to abundance, much differently than I used to. Consequently, when I do get this visit, it passes through me fairly quickly.

Consequently, when I do get this visit, it passes through me fairly quickly.
On this page I share some powerful tools, techniques, processes, and lessons that I have learned about Money and Abundance over the years.
Maybe you will find something interesting that will help you on your path to the financial, or any other form of abundance that you seek in your life.
Maybe you will find something interesting that will help you on your path to the financial, or any other form of abundance that you seek in your life.

When it comes to financial abundance there is no substitute for practicing sound financial management and responsibility.
However, beyond that required foundation, there are numerous impactful internal awareness’s and practices that I believe have significantly raised my overall level of abundance as well as the money abundance in my life.
However, beyond that required foundation, there are numerous impactful internal awareness’s and practices that I believe have significantly raised my overall level of abundance as well as the money abundance in my life.

It is very unfortunate that our human mind is often programmed to have a very narrow focus of what abundance is and how much of it we think we should have in order to feel abundant. As a result, many of us often feel, and then actually perpetuate a life of more lack and limitation due to our continuous focus on what we don't have. Unfortunately, unhappiness is a natural
by-product of this way of thinking; and unless we learn to recognize and shift this defective thought patter, it can become a permanent way of life.
Before I can shift my narrow focus, I must become aware of my mind's current perception first. Only after I observe and recognize 'My Minds flawed Perception' of what Abundance is and how Abundant I already am, can I then set out to consciously and consistently shift or pivot into a greater abundance consciousness from there.
This shift involves my recognition, acknowledgement, and eventual integration of the fundamental truth that 'Abundance is in all things', and 'I am already Abundant !' I may not be as abundant as I would like to be, but I am fundamentally Abundant !
I understand now that this is a mind-set that must sprout from within me first and only then can it expand outward from there.

How then is there Abundance in all things and how can I start seeing the Abundance in my life? I always start with the basics.
I live in a 'peaceful' part of the world, i.e. there is no war ! I am free ! I have health, I may not have all the health that I ideally want, but I do have health ! I am able to breathe freely and easily ! I can see ! I can hear ! I can taste ! I can smell ! I can walk and I can talk ! I can use my hands and I can care for myself ! I can read and write ! I have the ability to make independent choices and decisions. I live in a safe environment ! I have a roof over my head ! I have clean water to drink and wholesome food to eat ! I have electricity and I have indoor plumbing that works. Also, I do have money. I may not have as much money as I want to have, but I do have money !
And the list goes on . . . and on ! It can be as simple as that !
Most of us have at least some or all of these forms of abundances in our lives and thus we are abundantly blessed indeed, whether we know it or not ! If you are one of the ones who does not have some of those things in your life then you understand the level of abundance it would add to your life if you did have it. With this in mind, go through the above list and choose to see and appreciate the abundance that you do have, and add others to it as you think of them.
While it is very easy to take the seemingly simple gifts of life for granted, choose to open your mind to the amazing abundance that is already present in your life. Don't wait for the absence of any of those things to occur before you start appreciating what you once had but you never recognized, acknowledged, or appreciated it, until it was gone.

The more I allow myself to see the abundance in all things and the more I acknowledge all the abundance that is already in my life; the more I will appreciate it in all of its wondrous forms. It is this process that opens up the pathway for more of it to show up and expand in my experience. It could show up in many different forms, expected or unexpected. It could show up in the form of money or it could show up as something else. However, it will always show up as the 'Essence' Energy of Abundance; and whatever it shows up as, it is always pleasing to me !

This process of shifting my perception is also called Pivoting. Learning to Pivot in this way on a consistent basis, when we are so used to being focused on lack, is certainly challenging. However, our mind is an immensely powerful computer. It was programmed to think and perceive in this way in the first place, and so it can certainly be retrained to think otherwise.
Pivoting is not about denying or ignoring the facts, it is about finding positive aspects in something, anything, so that I can feel better first; before I take another look at how to proceed. We always make better choices and better decisions from a place of feeling better than from a place of fear or desperation.

How did our mind get programmed to become so focused to think in terms of lack in the first place ?
Our mind is constantly being programmed, intentionally or unintentionally, by simple means of our mind's focus and attention.
For me, there are 3 key 'Programmers of my Mind' to be aware of and understand. My awareness of them helps me recognize when I am in the process of programming my mind with unwanted programs so I can then intentionally initiate a Pivot and choose to install a wanted program instead.
3 Key 'Programmers of my Mind'
1) What I focus on expands ! Is my focus and attention on abundance or the lack of?
2) I see what I look for ! Do I look for and see abundance or the lack of abundance?
3) What I think about (most of the time) comes about, whether I want it or not ! (Self-Fulfilling Prophecy)

Abundance shows up in my life in so many ways, all I need to do to see it is to give it my attention. I must train myself to look for it, to notice it, to see it, and to appreciate it !
As I do so, I automatically raise my level of feeling abundant; because I am now mindful of, I am feeling, and I am appreciating the abundance that I already do have.
It is important to practice this mindfulness often throughout my day. All I have to do is 'stop' and look around me at any given time; and acknowledge, see, and feel appreciation for what is all around me and for all that I do have. Everything is a part of my abundance !

I admit, it can be quite difficult to feel genuinely good about the money that we do have when we are so convinced that we don't have enough of it. I know it requires that I spend more of my time genuinely and consistently being focused on what I do want than spending my time being focused on what's missing or what I don't want. This takes a lot of practice and an increasing self-awareness of my thoughts and feelings related to money as well as to all forms of abundance.
We often don't realize it, but many of us are actually more often focused on what's missing and/or what we don't want (the lack of) than on what we do want (abundance).

What is my Connection and Relationship with Money?

We all have a 'relationship' with abundance and yes, with money, whether we realize it or not. What is that relationship like? Is it a pleasant one or is it a strenuous one? Do I interact with it with ease, or is there often a feeling of stress within me when I have dealings with it? Am I attracting it or am I inadvertently repelling it? If I don't know the answer already, the following statement may shed some light on it.
'I Love Money and Money Loves Me' ! How does that feel? When I really feel into that, what is my internal (vibrational) response ? Do I agree and say 'yes' to it? Does it make me smile? Does it make me feel good? Is my heart singing? If the answer is 'yes' to at least some of those questions, then I probably have a pretty good relationship with money and money is more of a friend than an antagonist.
Friends have an affection for each other, they treat each other with respect and kindness. They are attracted to each other, and they want to support each other. Most of all, they want to bring joy to each other. If I am perceiving money as my 'friend' and I am treating it like one, I am in a pretty healthy and functional relationship with money. Therefore, I am more likely to be in 'pretty good' financial shape, or I am at least well on my way.
If my answer is something else, then I am very likely emitting an unintentional 'lack' vibration. As a result, I am probably experiencing some struggles with money; because I am actually repelling it, on a vibrational level. In that case, money is not my friend. Instead, I am likely judging it for not being there enough for me. I am probably not appreciating the money that I do have as much as I could. Think about it, what friend do I have, that wants to hang around someone who judges them, thinks they are never enough, or doesn't appreciate what there is of them ? I know, I don't have any friends like that.
It is important to recognize that money in itself is just a neutral energy. It is a medium of exchange, created by man to make it easier to get the goods and services that we need, without having to barter for them. Any energy, other than neutrality that is attached to it, is created by each one of us; depending on how we think and consequentially feel about money when we interact with it.
Now, I do admit, that this is a pretty different way of looking at money. I also know that implementing what I share on this page about money has made a significant positive difference in my experience with money as well as many other aspects of abundance in my life.

A word of Caution:
When I'm working on shifting my perception to
'I AM ABUNDANT', it is important to be aware of and resist my mind's response of: 'Yeah, but . . .'!
This is a Mind Chatter trap that, when I listen to it, will derail me every time; and I will find myself right back inside the scarcity and lack mentality.

'Fake it till you make it' can be a very beneficial tool to help me intentionally pivot my energy field from feeling the 'lack' of not having enough, to 'this is enough for now' and 'I am looking forward to more' !
Essentially, 'Fake it till you make it' means:
I am creating and then repeatedly telling myself a story that is not my current experience or believe, but it is my genuine desire and I do believe it to be possible in the future.
I have found Affirmations and Meditations to be very useful and effective tools for me to help me move in that direction. They help me create and reinforce a story that I want to tell.

A word of wisdom to consider:
If I am living in a 'lack of abundance' mentality, and I refuse to change my perception and my relationship with abundance; the abundance that I do want, including money, can probably not come to me. Or if it does come, it will probably take much longer and it will be much harder than it would be otherwise.
The Universal forces of the 'Law of Attraction' make it so.

There are always two sides to abundance:
The 'absence' of it or the 'presence' of it. What do I regularly focus on and see? |

Money Abundance Building Practice I call ‘Mind Spending’
Step 1: If you have not started yet, start putting some money away; whatever you can afford.
You can start very small but stretch yourself for wherever you are ! You could open a special bank account or you could just put cash in a special place; whatever works for you.
If you are saying to yourself that you don't have any money to put away, then you are operating from an intense ‘lack’ or ‘scarcity’ mentality, and this is exactly the reason why you DO NEED to do this.
You must change your pattern of thought and practice around money and abundance, or you may stay stuck there until you do.
Please note, I am not implying that money is not actually lacking or that it is not scarce in your life. I am just saying that if you want to move in the direction of feeling more abundant, you cannot continue to reinforce the actual lack and scarcity by repeatedly and consistently feeling it so intensely. You must find a way to shift the feeling before you can shift your reality and focusing on accumulating even just very small amounts of money and then watching it grow, will help you create this pivot.
There are actually some money apps available that allow you to save just pennies whenever you make a transaction with a credit card. These apps will round up your expenditure to the nearest dollar and put that money into a savings account. This is a very effective way of starting out small and seeing the level of your money abundance grow every time you pay for something with a credit card.
If you only use cash and you don’t use credit cards for purchases, you could take all of the change that you get when you buy something at the store and start putting it away. When you have a certain amount, say $10 for example, take it to the store with you and trade it in for a $10 bill. When you have ten $10 bills, take it to the store or a bank and trade it in for one $100 bill. Repeat ! Repeat ! Repeat ! This is how your feelings of abundance as well as your actual money abundance will grow.
When I first came to this country and I got my first job, my workplace had a credit union. So, I decided to open an account and I had them take a small amount of money out of every paycheck and deposit it into that account. Even though I was struggling financially, I never felt the absence of this money from my pay, but watching it slowly grow was a very joyous experience.
It is this joyous feeling that stimulates and builds up our overall level of abundance. When you feel it, and you take right action, you become it.
Step 2: Mentally keep track of the approximate amount of money that you have as it grows.
This will prompt your mind to have repeated thoughts of ‘I have money’ therefore ‘I am abundant’! I will always get more of what I am thinking about, whether I want it or not, therefore chronic thoughts of abundance will create more abundance.
Be mindful to ‘Take the BUT out of your Mouth’ before it sends you down the rabbit hole (see above post on this page).
Step 3: Throughout the day, as you see something that fits your ‘budget’ say to yourself: I could buy this if I wanted to. Again, chronic thoughts of abundance will create more abundance.
The intention is to help you notice and recognize that you do have money to spend and that you could spend it if you wanted to, but you also know that you are not going to. You are going to allow the money to accumulate and grow so that you can feel even greater abundance in the future. Just noticing how many things you could possibly purchase with that money several times over every day will build your feeling level of abundance in your life and thereby shift your point of financial attraction. If you can feel it, you can be it ! It starts by feeling it first. The more abundant you feel the more abundant you are !
Adapt the level of ‘Mind Spending’ to the amount of money that you have saved up. ‘Spend’ as much or as little of it, as often as you want, on whatever you want . . . repeatedly, throughout the day ! You can start out small like: Red Lobster is having a special for lunch, and I could do that if I wanted to. Or I love this piece of furniture, and I could buy it if I wanted to. It can be whatever you want.
As you play this game consistently, after maybe one week, notice the subtle shifts in your feelings towards money and towards abundance. How have they changed?

The following Practice(s) help guide me in a beneficial direction depending on whether I am in the Receiving mode or the Spending mode.

My 'MONEY RECEIVING PRACTICE'
Whenever I receive money, I practice saying words similar to these to any money that is entering my experience.
This practice helps me expand my mindfulness of the money that I actually do have, it helps me guide my feelings about the money that I have, and it helps me build a personal relationship with it.
I know that I have totally integrated my practice when 'my heart sings' as I am practicing it.

My 'MONEY SPENDING PRACTICE'
Whenever I am spending money, I practice saying words similar to these to the money that I'm spending.
This practice helps me expand my mindfulness of the money that I actually do have, it helps me guide my feelings about the money that I am spending, and it helps me build a personal relationship with it.
To really integrate it, I practice this multiple times on the same 'bill', or expenditure, every time I interact with it; or whenever it comes into my awareness. Usually, I do it once when I actually pay it out. Then again when I receive my bank transaction or credit card notification; and lastly when I download the transaction amounts into my Quicken account.

Once I have totally integrated the above 2 Practices, I may choose to practice this simpler version, going back to the longer versions as needed.
It is a simple but genuine 'Thank You', whenever I interact with money, whether I am receiving it or spending it !
